ash box use
i works pretty good if you are careful. I think the design is ok but it is not tall enough. as if you get any clinkers in it they will not slide to the back and allow the door to close. if the volum were double it would solve the problem

Best way to remove ashes I have found so far.
We live at 7600’ on the continental trail in western N.M., and our primary heat source is a large wood burning stove. We first brought a fireplace vacuum, but it continually clogged up, and the process of emptying it was a pain. Then I used a small flat shovel and bucket with a lid, but I ended up inhaling more small ash than I liked, not to mention the residue on furniture. So I went on line and found the ash scoop. It arrived two weeks ago, and it truly makes cleaning out ashes easier, and cleaner. Even with the scoop over full where the door won’t completely close I can walk outside with it keeping pressure on the door, and dump it into a bucket with no ash residue that I can detect in the house. It works for me, try it, you will be glad you did.

A Great Buy!
I'm glad I purchased this because it really reduces the amount of dust made when removing ashes. Now I scoop up the ashes close to the little door and pour them into a bucket outside.
