A chimney cap protects your flue from weather damage and this cap and damper combo by Lock-Top is a great combination. The damper has a silicone rubber seal to ensure an airtight fit. The parts are made from stainless steel and cast-aluminum and the unit arrives fully assembled. The package includes the Sweeps Ring, silicone sealant, a 30' stainless steel cable to operate the damper, and a hardware set for easy installation. The size of the unit is 8" W x 17" L x 11-3/8" H, and includes a 3/4" mesh screen to exclude animals. It will fit inside flue sizes of 6" x 14" to 9-1/2" x 17-1/2" and has a cross sectional area of 105 square inches.

Please Note: Do not use dampers with gas logs. Failure to open could cause carbon monoxide to back up into your home. In case of a gas leak, gases could become trapped in the flue, resulting in an explosion

How does this attach to the flue? Can it be bolted?
This cap is meant to attach directly to your flue with set screws; it cannot be mounted with adhesive or bolted to the chimney crown.
