The lid is hand-finished to have a rolled edge and it removes for chimney cleaning. Stripped threads during installation are prevented by weld nut technology. There is a manufacturer's lifetime warranty against both the workmanship and the materials of this item and there is a 3-year warranty for rust-through. The base size is 13" W x 17" L and the mesh is 8" high. The cap will fit outside tile dimensions of 11-1/2" x 16-1/2" to 13-1/2" x 18-1/2".
