Lyemance has just the tool that you need to make sure that the animals stay out of your fireplace. Their 8 inch by 13 inch damper cap is designed to fit over your chimney, making sure that the only thing that escapes from it smoke from your chimney and not the neighborhood critters. Why not keep your neighborhood animals cute by making them make their home outside of our chimney, where you can watch them go about their daily routine.
Please Note: Do not use dampers with gas logs. Failure to open could cause carbon monoxide to back up into your home. In case of a gas leak, gases could become trapped in the flue, resulting in an explosion

Does this Lyemance 8 x 13 inch damper cap seal the flue? Is the cable to open/close the damper included?
This would not include the cable, damper and extra hardware pack. You would need to purchase the Lyemance 9 in. x 13 in. Energy-Saving Damper and the remaining items would be found under "Popular Accessories for this Item" on this product page. When closed, this would seal the flue. Another option would be to purchase the Lock-Top II 8 in. x 13 in. Base Chimney Cap and Damper Combo as this would arrive with the remaining hardware, so long as your inside flue dimensions are in the range of 6" x 9" to 9-1/2" x 12-1/2".
