    Customer Questions & Answers
By Ron Hagen from apple valley, mn on December 5, 2011
I have a large number of flue tiles that are bad so plan to just put the relining kit in. From the top of the chimney to the floor of the existing fireplace is 22 ft. Is it easy to cut the pipe if I order the 25ft?

Is there any reason that you are aware of why I cannot install myself?

Assuming that the cap for the 13x13" flue overlaps and seals the flue? In the pictures it does not look like it overlaps but lays flat on the top - that would not make sense.

Can I run the 6" right into the back of the stove or do I need to put the T pipe in? Reason I am asking is if I come through the hole I created it will not really feed well into the T.

    Answer:
This liner can indeed be trimmed to size. While we always recommend a professional installation, relining a chimney is often within the scope of a handy weekend warrior. Most of our caps will indeed seal against your crown. Is there a specific cap in which you are interested? You may connect your reline pipe directly to the flue outlet on your appliance. A tee is not required but it does aid in clean out.
