I have an older Vermont Castings Resolute stove. It has a 6.5 x 5.5 inch oval outlet. I have an 8" round chimney flue. Should I use 6" pipe from the stove to the flue outlet in the wall or 8"? Do you have the adapter?

Answer:Calculating the area of the oval opening, its area is closer to an 8 inch circle. As such, I would recommend using 8 inch piping to run to your chimney flue, as this will yield better operation of your stove.
Unfortunately, the size oval outlet on your stove is no longer in common use and we do not carry an adapter to fit it. My best recommendation would be to have a 6.5 inch x 5.5 inch oval to 8 inch round adapter fabricated by a local metal shop. 24 or 22 gauge galvanized steel is the most common material used, along with a welded seam or stainless steel rivets.

I'm trying to find an adapter to reduce an approximately 9" X 6" oval exhaust on an Upland model 207 to a 6" round chimney. Is that a standard or possible to do?
By Chris C. on October 6, 2016
Answer:To my knowledge, the only mass produced stoves that require an oval to round adapter is Vermont Castings, as such, there are adapters readily available. However, for the size oval on your stove, an adapter would, instead, need to be field fabricated, or built by a local fabrication shop.

Is it normal for this Heat Fab welded black stovepipe oval to round offset connection boot for Vermont Castings stoves to give off an odd odor during the 1st burn? If yes, is it harmful to breath in?
By eFireplaceStore on January 11, 2016
Answer:The high temperature paint will indeed give off an odor and a slight haze when curing. The odor is non-toxic and will dissipate soon after. I recommend cracking a window to help with the odor during the initial burn in.

I have a Home Comfort wood stove ( kitchen stove with warming ovens ) and I need a stove pipe for it. It is oval like this one is it going to fit my wood stove?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on November 14, 2011
Answer:To be certain this adapter will fit, it will be necessary to measure the oval opening on your stove. There are many different sizes of oval that have been used between different brands and a standard size was never really established. Your stove will need to have a 5 3/8" by 9 3/4" flue opening to guarantee a fit.

Will this oval-to-round adapter fit a VC Defiant Encore from 1986?
By Tyler M. - Fireplace Specialist on February 26, 2013
Answer:To ensure that this oval-to-round adaptor will work for your stove, please measure the flue collar. It must have a 5 3/8" by 9 3/4" flue opening for this adaptor to fit properly.

I am looking for a 6" oval to 6" round adaptor for a Federal Airtight. Do you carry 6 to 6 (single wall)?
