    Customer Questions & Answers

I have a stainless liner and the stainless cover the liner goes through. The cover the liner goes through is fatigued and water leaks down the pipe. Does this product bond or recommended for stainless, or do you have any other product I could use?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on September 9, 2013

    Answer:
This product will only bond properly to masonry and cannot be used for this application. However, the IPC Pre-Mixed Furnace Cement - 1 Gallon Container is an effective product for making masonry to metal or metal to metal bonds. This product must be heated to fully cure, so it will be necessary to heat the flue approximately 1 hour after application.

I would recommend this item to a friend.
I'm repairing my 6 year old gas fire pit with CrownSaver. Whatever cement-like material it was made of hasn't stood up well to the outdoors. CrownSaver adheres to it well and makes a strong patch. Still have more to do, but the experiment is going well.
