For the most efficient venting possible, use this Security Double-Wall 6-Inch Adjustable Black Stovepipe to connect your solid-fuel stove to Secure Temp's factory-built chimney system. Since it features more insulation than comparable single-wall models, this double-wall stovepipe maintains higher flue temperatures and creates a more efficient draft. The added insulation also keeps the outside of the pipe cooler, making it possible to use this pipe just 6" away from combustibles.

Security Chimneys, as their name indicates, is dedicated to producing strong and reliable venting products, products that will leave you feeling confident and worry-free. This Double-Wall 6-Inch Adjustable Black Stovepipe, like all of the components in this line, is constructed with corrosion-resistant stainless steel and comes complete with a ten-year warranty. And because this series also features a wide variety of adaptors and accessories, installation is always quick and simple.

Durable, easy to use, and effective, this Double-Wall 6-Inch Adjustable Black Stovepipe helps provide an ideal connection to Secure Temp's factory-built chimney. Making the most of any solid-fuel stove is easy when you use Security piping.

*Please Note: A Flue Extension is required when joining adjustable pipe lengths to Secure Temp chimneys. Also, some stoves may require a separately purchased Stove Adaptor to connect to Security Stovepipe. Please consult your stove's instruction manual before ordering.

I have installed a Hearthstone woodstove in my house. It has an open to the roof great room that is about 20 feet from floor to ceiling. I used an adjustable section of security piping at the top where I also have two 45 degree elbows with a 6 inch section in between to offset around the ridge beam. I have noticed that after I have a fire going, if I open the stove door, the adjustable section leaks smoke. Is this because the cap is restricting flow? Does the adjustable section have to be at the top of the stove? can the adjustable section be upside down?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on December 19, 2013

    Answer:
The issue that is happening is when the door opens, draft pressure changes significantly and becomes weak enough that smoke can leak from the adjustment seam, where it normally would not. The adjustable section is indeed supposed to be at the top of the run and must be positioned flow side up. Usually, draft is strong enough that this issue will not occur, even with the stove door open. Are you using one of the standard Security chimney caps? Please advise.

I have a 6" Duravent class A chimney through the wall and I need to hook it up to my stove. I would like to use security double wall pipe. I need to know what is required in order to hook my stove to the pipe, and the pipe to the chimney. Can you tell me? I have Dura tech chimney pipe.
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on October 8, 2013

    Answer:
Unfortunately, Security double wall stovepipe cannot be used with the Duravent product. Because the two items are manufactured by different companies, they are not designed to be interchangeable. The product listings will also be compromised, which could cause an issue in the event of an insurance investigation.

However, we do carry a brand of double wall pipe, known as DVL, that can be used with the Duravent class A chimney systems. The adapter that can be used from the stove to the DVL pipe is the Dura-Vent DVL 6-Inch Double-Wall Stovepipe to Stove Flue Adaptor.

The proper adapters to use for connection of DVL to the Duratech chimney system through a wall is the DuraVent DVL Stovepipe/Chimney Pipe Adaptor With Trim - 6" and the DuraTech All-Fuel Decorative Chimney Pipe Finishing Collar - For Chimney Pipes with a 6-Inch Inner Diameter - 9455. The finishing collar will twist into the end of the Duratech pipe first, then the DVL adapter attaches to the end of the DVL and pushes into the finishing collar.

I am installing a potbelly stove in my living room. It has a 6" discharge hole. I am going up and out through the wall then up the side of the house to the roof. What do I need for this project? I understand the measurements are not available yet. Any suggestions?
By Kevin E. - Fireplace Specialist on February 9, 2012

    Answer:
You would simply need an appliance adapter to begin your run, followed by at least 12" of vertical pipe before making your turn to go through your wall. Your offset will be followed by a transition to chimney pipe. A wall thimble will provide safe passage of the chimney pipe through your wall. A tee with support bracket will receive and redirect this horizontal length of pipe. Then you would simply need the enough chimney pipe to get above the shingles by at least 3 feet.
