The manufacturer does not offer a screen for this direct-vent termination cap as it may restrict the flow of exhaust gasses. The openings in this cap are fairly small, and birds typically do not try to nest in them.

Does this cap also require a chimney cap?
This cap is designed to top off a section of Simpson Direct Vent Pro piping, however it does not come with flashing or a top for a surrounding chimney chase. This component would need to be fabricated for your chimney.

This cap does indeed have both a combustion exhaust as well as a fresh air intake. This cap is also designed to only work with Simpson Duravent Direct Vent Pro 4" x 6 5/8" pipe.
