Once your new wood stove is installed, your next job is to connect the chimney properly. The DuraVent 6DVL Telescoping Double-Wall Black Stove Pipe connects your stove to your DuraTech or DuraPlus chimney system. A double-wall, air-insulated design cuts down on the necessary clearances to your walls and ceiling, which helps save space and improve safety over other stove pipes on the market. This special stove pipe telescopes to multiple lengths, providing you with the perfect size in one section of pipe.
Please Note: This stove pipe can only be connected to DuraVent DuraTech and DuraPlus chimney systems. Do not pair this stove pipe with other manufactured chimney systems.
Also Note: All pipe lengths have a 1" connection overlap which reduces the installed length of the pipe by one inch.

Yes, but you could also use a 48" fixed length in conjunction with this piece to achieve 96" of length to save a bit on cost.

It is two pieces of stove pipe that when put together will telescope from 40 inches up to 68 inches.

How would I reduce the size of this pipe? Do I simply cut off the portion that I do not need or is there a special tool required?
This pipe will be shipped in two sections, with one section telescoping inside of the other. You will simply need to insert the smaller section into the larger section and collapse the overall assembly down to 60 inches for your application. No cutting is required.

Paint stripped
A shipping error set me back a little, but was resolved immediately and customer service was excellent. As I washed the pipe before the first burn(with vinegar and water) the paint was removed at the first touch. Hmm.
