I have a Vermont Castings Aspen Model 1920 to install in the loft of my barn. This will use the top of the stove connection so no elbows, just straight up thru the roof .
It is 10 feet from the top of the stove to the underside of the roof (plywood with 5V galvalume on top, then it is about 2 feet to the roof ridge. How much material will I need and what so I need to put on the top of the pipe? Some sort of cap?
The stove specs call for 6" chimney connector / 6" chimney flue size.

Answer:
To complete your installation, you will need enough single or double wall stovepipe to span the distance from the top of the stove to the roof decking, then a support box will install into the decking and act as the conversion point to a class A chimney above the roof line. You will need a special malleable flashing for the metal roof and a cap to complete the chimney. Please fill out the following form and we will be happy to assemble a quote for you.
