What is the differences between the following three 1. galvanized steel 2. galvalume 3. stainless steel?
By Tyler M. - Fireplace Specialist on November 7, 2011

Answer:
Galvanized and galvalume are the same and will be susceptible to rust and corrosion if exposed to the weather. Stainless steel will not rust or corrode and therefore is strongly recommended for any use where your pipe will be exposed. However, you may paint galvanized with a heat-resistant, rust-resistant paint if you must use it outdoors.
