If the 40" flex vent is going to be a little short for my installation, what would you suggest as an alternative? If I buy a short section of Twist Lock pipe, can that be connected to flex vent?

I just received the Monessen Up and Out flex vent starter kit. What are the 4 springs for?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on February 4, 2014
Answer:The springs are spacers that are designed to be slid over the smaller, 4 inch flex liner. You then will pull the 7 inch liner over the spacers. This is to ensure that the proper amount of space is maintained between the liners and that clearances are not compromised to combustible framing.

Is the 40" pipe the maximum length, or is there a range of length as is the case with other brands of flex pipe?

Answer:The 40 inch flex kit is the maximum length kit that Monessen produces for their appliances. Anything over the 40 inch length requires the use of rigid vent sections.

Is this all that is needed for a corner installation? I have the top vent running to an exterior wall over a deck, which is 72" above the deck.

Answer:For a corner mounted Monessen or Majestic appliance that utilizes the older 4 x 7 vent pipe, this will indeed work.
