I want to use this Vantage Hearth squirrel cage manual variable speed blower on an Empire Keystone Deluxe B-vent louvered gas fireplace 34". Although this blower listed above is operated by a manual control is it also thermally activated to turn on and off when the fireplace is started and turned off. Would this work for my fireplace?

Could this item provide heat independently or does the heat source solely come from the fireplace?
By eFireplaceStore on December 3, 2014
Answer:This fan is designed to circulate the heat produced by the fireplace while it is burning, but it does not have its own heating element. As such, it cannot provide supplemental heat on its own.

I have a Superior VCT3036 newly installed in my home. Is this Vantage Hearth squirrel cage manual variable speed blower kit the "BK" model that is meant for that fireplace?

The BK model blower is indeed one of the applicable models for your VCT3036. Additionally, this model can also accept the thermostatically controlled BKT Blower

Does this work with vent free gas log sets in a firebox of an existing fireplace? Also, does it need a cover or is a cover included?
By eFireplaceStore on October 7, 2014
Answer:This is manufactured for installation in the enclosed compartment of a prefabricated fireplace and cannot be installed within an existing firebox. If you have a prefabricated fireplace, it may have provisions for a blower, however masonry fireplaces cannot utilize a blower with vent free gas logs.

How does it install and work?
By Collin C. on November 3, 2011
Answer:This blower will install in the bottom of Vantage Hearth fireplaces, beneath an access panel in the floor. The blower will draw cool air through the bottom louvers on the face of the fireplace, then circulate the air around the back of the unit and out the top louvers. The heat from the chassis of the unit allows the air to be warmed substantially. The blower control will have long enough wiring to mount the control on the face of the unit. It has a variable control knob that will activate the blower and control the speed. It functions much like a light dimmer.
