I am very confused about what a trim kit is. I see that there are several black pieces around the fireplace in this picture. There is the first rectangle that seems to encompass the fire. Then there are 4 horizontal black pieces on both the top and bottom of the fireplace, and then there's a black rectangle that outlines the whole thing. Which of these three sets of pieces are considered the additional trim kit? If they are all a part of the trim kit, then what does the front of the fireplace look like if you don't buy the trim kit?

Answer:
The trim kit in this picture is simply the black rectangle that outlines the unit. The 4 black slats on the top and bottom are called "louvres" and they are a part of the actual fireplace. The trim kit pictured can be found here.

What additional items do I need to purchase in order to install this fireplace? Like vent material that goes in the wall, etc...
By Tyler M. - Fireplace Specialist on February 20, 2012
Answer:
We do offer multiple vent kits for this unit to suit your application. For example, here is one kit, suitable for horizontal terminations:
Please advise if you need venting components for a vertical termination.
Nothing else is required for installation, but you may be interested in several accessories available in the "Accessories" tab on this item's page. These include the ceramic brick liner for inside the firebox (as seen in the picture), trim kits and arched fronts.

Does this come exactly like the picture? The brick in the background, the black framing around the fireplace? Or do you have to purchase these separately?
By Tyler M. - Fireplace Specialist on February 20, 2012
Answer:
No, the ceramic brick liner and the medium black trim kit are extra pieces not included with the fireplace. Both of these items can be found in the "Accessories" tab on the fireplace's item page.
