Customer Q&A with Product Specialists

Katie R. from Pittsburgh, PA asked:
What is the difference between DVCD32FP70P and DVCD32FP30P?
What is the difference between DVCD32FP70P and DVCD32FP30P?
The DVCD32FP30P has the most basic control type available with a gas fireplace which is a millivolt a.k.a. standing pilot configuration. With a millivolt system, the pilot must be lit manually prior to months of extended use for basic operation of the burner flame with an optional On/Off control like a wall switch or remote. With a non-standing pilot electronic spark ignition system, house voltage would need to be provided as 110v is stepped down to 3v to spark the ignitor and burner flame and so the process of needing to light the pilot manually is eliminated. Since this process only requires 3v for ignition, the fireplace will include a battery backup that will provide basic operation in the event of an outage for a lengthy period of time.

Can this be placed in a corner? I understand it needs to be vented. How far out into the room does it need to be, to accommodate a corner installation?

This unit can indeed work in a corner application and be vented at a 45 degree to the left or right wall. The 45 degree cross wall would need to be 36 1/8 inches out from the 90 degree corner behind the unit. The 45 degree cross wall will measure 51 1/8 inches across.
