Do I need a heat shield for vinyl siding with this Empire DVVK-4F Flexible Horizontal Fireplace Vent Kit?
By Will M. on July 10, 2015
Answer:The design of the cap provides enough clearance for a siding shield to not be needed.

Can I vent my ventless fireplace?
By Owen on August 8, 2017
Answer:No, ventless fireboxes do not have a flue collar to accept vent pipe. They should not be modified to do so.

Does this vent kit work for the DVCD-32-FP3ON fireplace?
By eFireplaceStore on July 30, 2014
Answer:Yes. The DVVK-4F is listed for use with this model of Empire fireplace. It is an excellent choice for corner installations or for any install where a slight offset is required.

I purchased an Empire medium loft fireplace from you and I want to use the DWK-4F kit to install it. The distance from the center of the vent pipe to the exterior stud wall is about 24.5 inches. Will this kit work? Is there anything else that I will need for venting? The wall material is 2x4 studs, OSB panels and then wood lap siding.

I have a Empire 36" Tahoe fireplace. I ordered the DVVK-4F flexible kit and then had to order flexible pipe extensions so i could reach my roof. My question is, i would like to come vertically out of my fireplace fifteen feet then turn ninety degrees horizontally and exit out the side of my house. I do have adequate clearance from combustibles and other requirements. I just want to make sure that what I am wanting to do is legit and if so, would this kit be suitable. If not suitable, what kit would you recommend?
By Will M. on June 14, 2016
Answer:For clarity, this is a horizontal vent kit that will have a termination cap that is only suitable for completely horizontal installations. For vertical applications where the pipe will exit through a pitched roof, this will not work.
With that being said, the 36" Tahoe fireplaces are approved for use with flexible venting and this configuration will be acceptable so long as your horizontal run does not exceed 15 feet and all other termination clearances are followed where the horizontal termination cap will be positioned on your exterior wall.

Do you need a siding standoff for this product as well?
By eFireplaceStore on September 8, 2014
Answer:This particular kit includes the standoff as an integral component of the termination. As such, an additional standoff is not required.

What part number is for the vinyl siding standoff for this kit?
By eFireplaceStore on November 11, 2014
Answer:The manufacturer does not list a vinyl siding standoff for this kit, as the standoff distance normally provided by such an item is actually built into the design of the cap.

I recently purchased the "Empire Loft See-Through Direct Vent Gas Fireplace with RF Controls and Decorative Surround - 36 Inch" from you and want to know if the "Empire DVVK-4F Flexible Horizontal Fireplace Vent Kit" is the right venting choice for my particular case. I attached a couple of pictures from the blueprints of the house, indicating the location of the fireplace and of the termination cap. The termination cap will be 2" away from a stone wall, but will be mounted on a vinyl siding wall. Will this work?
By Chris C. on October 2, 2014
Answer:From the diagrams you have provided, I do indeed believe that this kit will work with the clearances required. It was a pleasure discussing the installation with you, and please let me know if you have additional questions or concerns regarding the installation.
