This direct vent fireplace gives you the Winchester Convertible Clean Face styling. The creative design gives the option of a vertical vent or a horizontal vent. The clean face means you can see the fire without obstructions. The realistic ceramic fire logs are massive and realistic. The Natural Blaze burner gives you a deep glowing ember bed and realistic high flickering yellow flames. The Signature Command Control system controls everything. The appliance gives off BTUs of clean and efficient heat.

I would like to go direct vent. Up then a 90 and out 8' from center of fireplace. How much for venting kit?

Answer:

For this unit to draft properly, you will need at least 4' of vertical rise in conjunction with your preferred 8' of horizontal run.

You would start with your 4' vertical length. Then add your 90 degree elbow. Then two more 4' lengthsto achieve your 8' horizontal. You'll need a wall thimble wherever you pass through a wall. Lastly, you'll finish it off with a horizontal termination cap.

I wanted to install this unit in a corner with a flat screen television mounted above it. Can I place a television above it without the television being damaged by the heat?

A television can indeed be installed above it, provided the proper clearances are maintained. You will want to look at the "Mantel clearances" illustration (Figure 5) on page 8 of the owner's manual, which you can download on the item page (see the link below the "Features" section).
