The most challenging part of installing a fireplace in your home is getting the ventillation system properly installed. Once installed, it is important to keep your vent system protected and free from damage. This termination and louver kit helps keep your vents clean and free from damage. With this termination in place, you can keep debris and animals from damaging the interior of your vents, while still getting the circulation that is needed for proper air flow.

Typically, a chimney cleaning once per year should suffice for a properly-sized and installed chimney.

Will this FMI/Superior round chimney termination with louvers fit inside an 8" pipe? Also, what is the diameter of the top vent?
This termination is only compatible with FMI or Superior High Temperature Double-Wall Wood-Burning Chimney pipes with an 8" inner diameter. The overall height of this product is 13 1/2". The dimensions for just the louvered cap are 16 1/2" W x 7 1/2" H. Please note that this should not be used with prefabricated chimney from different manufacturers.

This cap is made of galvanized steel.
