I have a fireplace opening of 36" by 29" high and the glass and frame will not stay in the opening. The frame is only an inch or two bigger than the opening, and smoke will just roll out when I light a fire. I am looking for a new insert that looks nice. If you can send me some options i would appreciate it.

Is this something that can heat up a home or is it just for reparations and repair of an old cavity?

This item is actually a decorative surround for the large Innsbrook fireplace insert. The insert itself, is the Innsbrook Large Direct Vent Gas Fireplace Insert - Natural Gas - DV-35IN-33LN
, which is designed to retrofit a standard masonry fireplace into a true source of supplemental heat. The surround will simply trim out the remaining space between the insert and the fireplace perimeter.

What are the measurements on this? We have an older Sweet home fireplace insert. I hope this fits.

Answer:Interior dimensions are approximately 33 1/2 inches wide and 23 3/8 inches tall. The surround has a 6-inch boarder thickness on all sides. While it is designed for use with the Empire Large Innsbrook Fireplace Insert, it could be adapted for use with other models. Some field fabrication will be needed.

We have a great fireplace with a gaudy shiny bronze surround. We want to replace it with a flat black surround. The size of the current rectangle is approximately 44.75 in wide and 23.5 in tall.
What is available? Also is there some description on how these are installed?

Answer:Typically, each surround is specific to the brand of fireplace that you have and will attach to the unit with simple metal clasps or machine screws. Do you happen to know the brand and model number of the fireplace? I will first try to find a surround in alternate colors, just as soon as I have this information.
