Will this Monessen Designer Radiant See-Thru wood burning fireplace with black doors support the weight of a brick chimney?
By Will M. on July 31, 2015
Answer:This would not be proper or safe and the fireplace would definitely not support this weight. The 11CF chimney is the only acceptable chimney system. The fireplace is meant to be framed in to a combustible chase and the brick could be used as a finishing material, but this cannot be used as the actual chimney.

I am building a new house and am considering the 42 inch See-Thru Wood-Burning Fireplace. What is the recommended chimney height to provide sufficient draw and no smoking?
By eFireplaceStore on May 2, 2016
Answer:Overall chimney height should be at least 15 feet when measured from the base of the fireplace to the chimney termination.

Can this be used as an exterior-to-interior fireplace? We are in Colorado and will need to buy at least two fireplaces: one that is viewed from inside to the outside patio, and one for room to room.
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on November 5, 2012
Answer:Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not offer glass doors that will seal all of the outdoor air from leaking through the unit to the interior of the home. Currently, we do not offer a see-thru wood-burning unit that can be used in this way. However, it is possible to have a local glass company custom cut a pane of high temperature tempered or ceramic glass which could be installed to seal the unit completely on the outdoor side.

Answer:This fireplace does indeed allow for a gas log set to be installed into it. There is a gas line opening on one side of the fireplace.
