Would this be a fireplace that has its own thermostat or that I could hook up to one to be the primary heat source in an apartment?
By eFireplaceStore on September 12, 2014
Answer:This heater only offers low, high, and timer settings. A thermostat cannot be used with this particular models. Because this unit is limited to 5000 BTUs, it is really only suitable as a supplemental heater. It can provide supplemental heat to a 140 square foot area.

I would like to mount this 6"-8" below a wooden mantle. Do you make a heat deflector shield for this unit?
By Chris C. on July 29, 2014
Answer:Unfortunately, after checking with the manufacturer, there is no heat shield accessory available. They have also recommended a minimum 3 foot clearance is required above the top of the unit from any combustible material.
