I have an old Morso squirrel stove with a 4.7 inch flue opening on top. I need to go to a six inch pipe. Will I be able to further crimp this Imperial 5 x 6 inch crimped stove pipe increaser to make it work?
By eFireplaceStore on August 3, 2015
Answer:This adapter is already crimped to 4 7/8 inches. As long as you have a crimping tool with deep enough crimping fingers, it should be able to crimp down to approximately 4 5/8 inches without an issue.

In the picture the 5" side is crimped, so it would be male and the 6" side isn't so it would be female. Is this correct?

Answer:That is correct. The part is pictured upside down from how it would be utilized in your piping run.

Is the crimped end 5 inches after being crimped? Will this wok with wood stoves?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on November 22, 2013
Answer:The crimped end of the increaser measures 5 inches at the top of the crimp, but tapers down about 1/4 of an inch to fit into most flue collars. It is indeed designed for use with wood stoves.
