I have seen other gas fireplaces blowers, like this one, which require electricity. Does this one require electricity? If not, how does it blow warm air out into the room?
By eFireplaceStore on November 18, 2014

    Answer:
This unit does indeed require a dedicated 110 volt power source to operate the included rotary blower system.

This unit is very stout. You have to take into consideration the location of the fan box, the height of the grate, and how it will effect the burner pan. It does generate a nice amount of heat although I wish the fan unit was more quiet. It can heat up the surface off your hearth in front of the air duct to the point where it can burn you so be careful. If I had it to do over again I would probably not buy this rather use a non-electrical convection heat grate (really more for wood logs), or just use a regular grate.
    Pros:
    Generates decent amount of heat.
    Cons:
    1) Cost, 2) The blower has to be on for you to use the fireplace or they warn it will damage components. 3) Difficult to use with glass door set-up and have heat discharge through the vents.
