I can not switch the remote from c to f for the temperature
To change from C to F, you will need to hold the "off" button for about 4 seconds until the "C" blinks. Then, you can press the off button once to change over to "F".

How do I set this remote to "automatic"?
This remote is a non-thermostatic model and cannot set to an automatic temperature function. The remote does have a display that gives the room temperature, but has no other functions.
