Can you place a wood heater on this stove board?
By eFireplaceStore on August 21, 2014
Answer:You can. This is a completely noncombustible hearth board which consists of mineral board, wrapped in a metal jacket. It provides an R-value of 1.56. As long as the heater does not require additional floor protection, it can be placed directly on the board.

Can this be used in lieu of a hearth pad?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on October 15, 2013
Answer:Hearth pad and stove board are terms that are used interchangeably in the industry. This board can be used in place of the more traditional pads that are often seen, which tend to be heavier and thicker. This board offers an R value of 1.56. If the board is being installed over a combustible floor, it is important to make sure that your stove does not require a board with a higher R value.
