I have a number of questions:
1. Is this termination made of stainless steel?
2. Is it suitable for gas flues?
3. Do you ship to Australia, and what is the usual delivery time for such a service?
By Tyler M. - Fireplace Specialist on October 29, 2012
Answer:1. This cap is not stainless steel, it is actually an aluminum/galvanized mix.
2. This cap is only meant for use with Majestic's triple-wall Class A chimney pipe that is used for venting solid-fuel appliances.
3. We do not ship overseas. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Is the termination listed applicable to wood burning units? I have a Majestic WM42HT wood burner.
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on August 23, 2012
Answer:This is indeed the correct termination for your wood burning fireplace. Your unit does use this same triple wall piping system, so this termination would offer the proper fit for your needs.

I have a Majestic fireplace model # M36 and it's about 30 years old. Is this round, louvered termination RLTS8 the correct cap for my fireplace?
By Will M. on June 29, 2015
Answer:Per the manufacturer, this would be the correct cap for the M36.

The measurements for my triple walled flue are 8" x 11 1/4", x 13 1/2" diameter. Is this the right one for my application?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on December 20, 2013
Answer:Those are indeed the measurements of the Majestic triple wall chimney system. However, there are a couple of other brands on the market that use the same dimensions. If your chimney or fireplace is verified to be a Majestic, this cap will work.

Does the drawband of this Round Louvered Termination for Majestic 8 inch diameter triple-wall flue pipe go around the outer 13.5 inch pipe and would it go outside against the flashing?
By Tyler M. on July 13, 2015
This item is the cap for the 8" inside diameter Majestic triple-wall chimney pipe. The appropriate drawband to go around the approximate 13 1/2" outside diameter is the DB-8A

i have a triple wall flue but the outside diameter is 12''
will this fit over the outside (third) pipe ?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on June 21, 2012
Answer:Most likely, this item will not fit properly on a 12" O.D. flue. I will be happy to look into the correct cap for your needs, but I will need a bit more information to suggest the proper cap? Is there any labeling on the chimney that has a manufacturer name or product line? If not, what is the inside diameter of the flue pipe? Lastly, is there visible space in between the inner and outer walls of the pipe or is it completely sealed? Please advise at your convenience.

This is what I need but I need larger dimensions -
inner sleeve is 10 1/2 inches wide, the one that fits around the exterior of the chimney pipe is 13 1/2 inches wide, chimney top diameter is 16 1/2 inches wide
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on April 16, 2012
Answer:Given the measurements you provided, it sounds like you may have the Majestic CF11 chimney series, instead of the SK8.
Do you happen to know the manufacturer of the chimney or the fireplace itself? This will help me to verify the proper cap for your needs.

I have a Majestic fireplace insert with double wall flue (outer 10", inner 8"), with a Heritage woodstove sitting on the hearth, with 6" flexible flue inside the fireplace flue. I don't use the fireplace. I only use the woodstove hearth heater. I see you have 2 caps available, (the RLTSK8, and RLTS8). Could you tell me if either of these would work on my flue, and what the difference is between the two?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on February 4, 2014
Answer:The only difference between the two caps is the chimney system they are designed for. The RLTSK8 is designed for the Majestic double wall system, which has an 8 inch ID and an 11 inch OD. The RLTS8 is designed for the triple wall chimney, which has an 8 inch ID and a 13 inch OD. If you would like to confirm the model number of the manufactured fireplace, I can verify the correct cap to use.

I would like to order a replacement cap for a Majestic MR 42 wood burning fireplace. The flue is a factory-built metal triple-wall air insulated. The original cap part number is: RT8C Contemporary Round Top Termination. It has a extended top cap and two perimeter vents with extended perimeter flanges.
I the MAJ-RLTS8 the correct replacement?
By Kevin E. - Fireplace Specialist on April 25, 2012
Answer:Indeed, the RLTS8 is the current version of the RT8C Majestic termination. Of course, the styling is slightly different but this cap will attach and perform in the same manner as the original.

I am using Majestic CF series two wall chimney pipe, 8" inner pipe, 13.5" outer pipe and I have a RTLS8 cap now, but ash falls back down into the venting section of the double wall pipe that is building up down at fireplace level. Is it possible to get a cap for CF series pipe of this configuration? I have Fireplace Xtrodinair 36 Elite.
By Will M. on January 24, 2017
Answer:Please, note that this cap may not be used with the older CF8 series of chimney. Additionally, the CF8 series of chimney was not tested and listed for use with the Fireplacextrordinair 36" Elite model, so I am uncertain how this chimney could have been securely affixed to the top of this fireplace with no starter collar available, so I highly recommend contacting a Fireplacextrordinair dealer to ensure the current vent configuration is safe. With that being said, we do not currently offer a cap that would be safe to use as a substitute with the current installation.

I have a Majestic MBUC36 fireplace that has an exposed chimney pipe. I'm looking for a replacement cap and am wondering if the RLTS8 is the correct replacement? Are there any installation details available? How does the cap attach?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on September 19, 2013
According to archived information for this unit, this model actually uses the Majestic Round Louvered Termination for SK Series 8 in. Diameter Chimney Pipe
. This cap will fit directly to the SK8 double wall chimney your fireplace uses. While I do not have installation instructions for this cap, I can advise that the installation is a simple matter of pushing the cap downward into position until the metal lances snap into place. Removing the old cap may be a challenge, as the lances are not easily unsnapped. You will likely need to use a wide bladed screwdriver to pry out on the existing cap until each lance releases and the cap can be removed.
