This remote control is used to control heating appliances that use both Millivolt and 24V systems. The hand held unit features a large backlit LCD display that also displays a low battery indicator. It uses touch screen technology to set the thermostat, sleep mode, and timer functions. The unit has an optional wall mount and a slide function for quick operation. Along with the remote you also get the battery operated receiver and wall cover plates. The system uses 16 security codes and has an operating range of 30 feet.

I have this Ambient TSST touch screen handheld remote. I am about to order the less expensive basic On/Off remote. Do they use the same receiver? Can I simply use my existing receiver if I order this new basic one?
The TSST remote kit includes the receiver and transmitter. The existing receiver would need to be replaced with the new one included with the remote.

Fire Place Remote with Thermostat
Fantastic piece of hardware. I use this with my patio room fireplace and since I only use the room occasionally during the week I leave the thermostat function set to a low temperature setting to keep the chill off the room which also makes for a quick warm-up when i use the room on the weekend.

Makes My Bedroom Enjoyable
I use this unit where I sleep (toasty covers are absolutely wonderful), and all of the features are very useful. I use the shutoff timer almost daily, and being able to set it for a specific temperature is very useful. I see only one flaw in the design. If only they had a function to turn it on at a preset time. Then I might enjoy getting out of bed!
