I have a wood burning fireplace insert and the rear refractory panel crumbled. The brand name is either Superior Model # CF-3860 or a Hearthstar H series fireplace Model # 38H. It is 26 years old. The side and bottom panels appear to be okay. Can you give me some advice on how to replace that panel?

Unfortunately, we do not have the manufacturer-specific panel that you are looking for, but we do offer some universal refractory panels that will work for your woodburning fireplace. Please see the following links:
One 24"h x 28"w Panel
Two 24" h x 40"w Panels
These panels are about 3/4" thick and can be cut down to the size you need with a masonry blade or tile saw. They are suitable for use as side, rear and floor panels inside any manufactured woodburning fireplace.

Do you have brick panels for Napoleon GD27 gas fireplace? It would be part # GD-780KT.
Also looking for replacement glass, would be part # ws-300-20.

Answer:Napoleon has informed us that the brick panels for your GD27 have been discontinued and are no longer available. We apologize for this inconvenience.
However, we can get the replacement glass for your unit. Please reply with a shipping zip code and we will be happy to get final pricing to you. This part number has been updated and replacement glass for the GD27 is now Napoleon part #W010-0454.

Answer:Do you know if this model (GD27) can be operated without the brick panels given that they are no longer available?

Does this have a top in it?
By Tyler M. - Fireplace Specialist on February 27, 2013
Answer:No, this brick liner kit includes the rear and side panels as well as the hearth panel. There is no top piece.
