Outside of cleaning the unit, it can be run continuously. It can be used as the main heating source.

This fireplace uses Duratech Class A chimney pipe with a 7" inner diameter. The compatible chimney can be seen under the "Venting Components" tab on the fireplace's page.

Good but Hard to Clean
I use this attractive fireplace nearly every day for about six months out of the year. I like its appearance but am frustrated with the difficulty of cleaning it. No matter what I do, I can't seem to keep the glass doors clean.

Stylish and Nice but...
This product is very stylish in appearance, but I am disappointed in one major feature. The glass in the door becomes tarnished with soot regardless of how I change the vent position. This drawback hinders my ability to view and enjoy the fire.
