What kind of wood is this mantel out of? I want to stain it but I need it to match the kind of wood that surrounds it, which is red oak. Do you make it in red oak?

I want to order Pearl Mantels 418 Homestead Mantel Shelf Unfinished in 60 inches. What kind of hardware should I order to hang this shelf?
By Will M. on January 5, 2016
Answer:Basic hardware is included for installation in addition to a wall cleat that will need to be used to hang the mantel from your wall. I recommend locating the studs behind your drywall with a stud-finder and marking your hole locations on a level plane to attach the wall cleat. Before securing the wall cleat to the wall, you will need to pre-drill holes into the wall cleat prior to using the included hardware to avoid splitting the wall cleat, which will cause the mantel to not hang securely from the wall.
