I have seen this Pearl Mantels 520-38 Berkley MDF fireplace mantel in white on other sites listed as "paint ready" or "primed and ready for paint". Is this one different than the others in that it actually is painted already or just white primed?
By Chris C. on October 21, 2015
Answer:This fireplace mantel is indeed painted white with no additional finishing or painting required before installation. We do carry other manufacturers with similar style mantels which are listed and "paint ready" or simply primed, but I can assure you this model is ready to be installed with no additional finishing required.

We like this fireplace mantel and surround, but wonder if there is any way it can come with an interior width of 40". We live in a condominium, and I think our fireplace is a little smaller than the products on your website. There is 6" of marble around the fireplace opening, for a total of 52" in width to be surrounded by the "surround." Can you help me?

Does this Pearl Mantels 520-48 Berkley fireplace mantel come with trim molding to fill in the gaps?
By eFireplaceStore on June 11, 2015
Answer:This item is a fiberboard fireplace mantel, which consists of a shelf, breastboard, and vertical legs. The area that remains between the fireplace itself and the mantel should be covered with a noncombustible veneer of your choosing.

My measurements are much smaller than this Pearl Mantels 520-48 Berkley MDF fireplace mantel in white's size. Are we able to saw the vertical leg pieces on each side to the measurement of our fireplace?
By eFireplaceStore on November 23, 2015
Answer:A fine toothed circular saw blade can indeed be used to cut down on the mantel leg height. You will need to cut very slowly so that the veneer does not tear.

How far does this Pearl Mantels 520-48 surround have to be from a natural fireplace?
By Will M. on May 6, 2015
Answer:For a masonry fireplace, the generally accepted rule is at least 12 inches from the top of the opening. For a prefabricated gas or wood fireplace, this information would be indicated in the product literature.
