I can't find the black trimmed bi-fold glass doors or the manufacturer specified starter flue pipe SS-8DM for this fireplace (Superior WRT3042). Where can I find these?

How efficient is this wood burning fireplace?
By Will M. on February 23, 2015
Answer:Traditional prefabricated wood burning fireplaces are not very efficient and will only provide radiant heat to the room they are installed in.

Which doors fit the Superior WRT3042 Pro Series 42" Radiant Wood-Burning Fireplace? Is there any particular gas logs which go with this unit as well?
By Will M. on January 13, 2016
The door options are found on this product page
under "Popular Accessories for this Item." Also, you are able to enter the inner hearth dimensions of 39" FW x 29.5" RW x 16.25" D into our gas log calculator
to view the gas log options that will be safe to install in this fireplace as there are no gas log sets made specifically for this fireplace.
Please note that any optional doors that are installed must remain open while a gas log set is in operation.

What do all the suffixes in the WTC3042 represent? Also, what are the lengths of vent pipe that are available?
By eFireplaceStore on November 13, 2014
Answer:The "W" means wood burning, the "C" means circulating, and the "T" means traditional. The "30" stands for the 3000 series, which is one series up from the builder grade. The "42" indicates a 42 inch wide opening. The vent piping can be seen under the "Venting Components" tab on the item page, with 1 foot, 2 foot, 3 foot, and 4 foot sections available.

Can the doors for this Superior WRT3042 Pro series 42" radiant wood-burning fireplace be ordered later? Would it get cold without having fireplace doors?
By Will M. on November 24, 2015
Answer:You are absolutely able to order doors at a later date and you may indeed experience cold air infiltration without doors installed. This is especially the case in northern climates combined with an exterior chimney location where the fireplace and chimney are located on a perimeter wall of the home as opposed to an interior location. In these cases, the chimney will not be in the heated area of the home and the chimney will be at or near outdoor atmospheric temperatures. In addition, this location is more subject to downdraft issues where cold, heavy air will literally blow down the chimney without heated, buoyant air to counteract these conditions. Subsequently, the portion of the home where the fireplace is located will remain cooler than the rest of the home. Installing doors would be a definite recommendation in these conditions, in addition to properly insulating the chase.

I am looking to purchase the WRT3042 fireplace with white herringbone and would like some help with ordering pieces for the chimney and flue.
I've attached a sketch showing how the installation is intended. The fireplace is to be built 10" off the floor. The interior ceiling height is 8'-0", and the roof slope is 3.75x12. There is an existing roof penetration that is 1'-6" off the center line of the fireplace that I would like to be able to reuse. The chimney will run between roof rafters so there isn't a clearance issue there, so the offset can cross into the attic space as well. If there is additional information you need, i'd be happy to provide.

What do all the suffixes in the WRT3042 represent? Does this unit circulate the heat in a living space?
By eFireplaceStore on December 2, 2014
The model number for this unit breaks down as follows:
W - Wood burning
R - Radiant (smooth) face
T - Traditional style
30 - 3000 Series fireplace, which is a step up from the builder 2000 series
42 - 42 inch wide opening
For a circulating effect into the room, I recommend using the Superior WCT3042 Pro Series 42" Insulated Louvered Wood-Burning Fireplace
instead. This model will feature a louvered face that will allow heat to circulate through the unit and into the room.

I'm planning to use this Superior WRT3042 Pro Series 42" radiant wood burning fireplace for my patio outdoor fireplace. Before I order it I wanted to make sure it's suitable for this purpose. I'm also not sure about all of the venting pipes and accessories I will need. Can you help me out with that? The height from the patio to the top of the chimney will be 23-26 feet.

Is this Superior WRT3042 Pro series 42" radiant wood-burning fireplace able to be converted to a gas log (natural gas) set up in the future?
By Chris C. on December 31, 2015
Answer:This model does indeed feature gas line knock outs on both the left and right hand sides of the fireplace itself. If you wish to install a log set in the future, I would recommend to install the gas line prior to finishing the fireplace, and simply leave a short stub to the inside of the fireplace for easy connection in the future.

When installing in an exterior wall chase, what is the minimum width of the outside framing? The framing instructions say 48 and 3/4" but it looks like that's just for the front opening. What is the minimum width for the same fireplace in 36"?
By Will M. on March 22, 2016
Answer:The interior framing width is 49 3/4" for the 42" model , but the exterior chase dimensions will vary, depending on the materials used (siding, sheathing, insulation, etc.). The exterior framing dimensions would be nothing more than the interior framing dimensions plus the thickness of the framing members (2 x 4's) used.
The framing width for the 36" version is 41.75".
