What is the difference between the Superior WRE4336ZEN and the Superior VRE3036ZMN.? We are looking for unit with the most water resistance. The WRE model seems to have a drain pan that will accept a hard wired drain line. I do not see anything on the VRE model except that a drain pan can be purchased.

Answer:The WRE is a wood burning series that requires the installation of a chimney system. In addition to wood burning, it can be used with a vented or vent free gas log set. The VRE series is a complete vent free system with no chimney. Both systems do indeed offer the drain pan, which is recommended for installation at or just above grade so that pooled water can escape. Both systems do a good job of allowing water to escape under normal circumstances.
