Where is the gas supply coming from? Does the stove have a compartment for a propane tank?
    3 Answers
On page 10 of the installation instructions, you will see a diagram for the gas supply.
Submitted by: Kathy O. on April 16, 2020
The stove has a fitting on the back right (as you face the stove from the front) where a gas line is connected...either natural gas or propane (the stove comes with adapters). A propane tank should be located outside the building.

If electricity is out I assume this will work, i.e. the battery ignites the gas? About how large an area will it heat?
    5 Answers

Yes in a power loss the unit will still light. It can heat up to about 1100 SF.

Submitted by: Owen O. on April 13, 2020
Yes, this works when the power is out. The fan will of course not work with no power. We have a 900 square feet area that it heats very well.
Submitted by: Helen on April 13, 2020 from Timberville, VA
No electricity needed, the battery ignition works well. I‚€™d estimate it will heat 1000 sq ft. Lots of variables in that estimate like how well is the house insulated, expected low temps, how open is the house (airflow), etc. I have it in a 140 sq ft well insulated sunroom that opens into a living area of about 350 sq ft. Ceiling fan helps circulative. Usually, run on low to medium setting. Pleased with the stove.

The pilot light is always on (unless you've purposely turned off) so it doesn't depend upon any electrical input to light. I added a blower and that does require electricity. I'm heating a 1200 sq. ft. first floor and a 480 sq. ft. loft - the heat is redistributed from the loft back downstairs. I've been very pleased - I replaced a 30 yr. old Osburn vented gas stove - this Duluth Forge unit is far superior since so much more of the heat stays in the house. The 'new' smell takes about a week to burn-off.

No electrical needed. I leave pilot on for winter and spring. Will shut off in warm weather. Heats our main living room easily 20x20. Sometimes gets it too hot.

Can this stove be placed in a corner? If so what is the space requirement from the rear corners of the stove to the sidewall and from the back corner to the rear of the stove?
    1 Answer
Yes, the stove can be placed in a corner. Clearances from the outermost point of the heater to any combustible wall should not be less than 12 inches. Moreover,  clearances from the heater to the ceiling should not be less than 48 inches.

Is there a glass underlay on the door, or is it open? Also, can this be run without electricity?
    1 Answer
There is no glass, as it is open since that is how the fire will receive the oxygen it needs to burn. It can operate without electricity.

Does this stove need electric power to operate other than the battery?
    1 Answer
No electricity is needed for this stove to operate. If you add the optional blower, you will need a 120V supply for that, but the stove itself does not use electricity.

Is the thermostat integrated? Can a separate thermostat be mounted remotely?
    1 Answer
Any thermostatic bulb valve system like the product in question may never be used with a wall switch, remote or wall-mounted thermostat. Instead, a thermostatic bulb valve will feature a coil that senses temperatures near the pilot assembly. By adjusting the knob located on the valve to an inexact temperature setting based on your comfort level, the burner flame will cycle on and off.

What is the clearance from back wall? Does the floor get hot?
    1 Answer
We would recommend 12" from the stove to your wall.  The floor will get hot but there is no clearance required to a wood floor.  However, if you have carpet or vinyl flooring, you should use a stove board under the stove.

Does "the desired temperature" mean the thermostat is fully adjustable?
    1 Answer
It operates like a Hydro-static thermostat. It has a 1 to 5 heat range and will cycle the burner on/off once that level is reached.

Why does it leave a film on wood and windows?
    1 Answer
This is caused by the water vapor and nitrogen dioxide put out during combustion.  It shouldn't be happening immediately, but over prolonged use of the unit, cleaning the windows will be necessary.

    Soon to be installed!
The Duluth will be installed in a four season sunroom that is currently under construction. While I have not used it, I have removed the stove from packaging to examine it upon receipt. The stove is obviously quality built in both the materials and construction of the stove and the fire logs. Very nice looking and will be an attractive addition to the room. The owner's manual is complete and easy to follow and understand. eFireplace store was quick and complete in answering questions prior to purchase and in keeping me advised concerning shipping and delivery. Looking forward to experiencing its warmth this winter.
    ProsWell built. Good looking.

It was easy to install and looked beautiful.!! We love it. I felt the 75$ unloading fee was uncalled for though. It wasn‚€™t that heavy.
