Can this be mounted on the brick separately or the frame of a fireplace?. Can this be used over an unvented fireplace.? It gets very warm.

No, this must be installed on a glass enclosure. Moreover, no, it is not recommended to install a glass door set on a fireplace in which you have a ventless gas log set installed.

What is the heat rating for the temper glass?

The manufacturer does not publish a specific temperature rating. The temperatures coming out of a properly operating fireplace can reach up to 250 Degrees Fahrenheit, so it would have to be rated at least that high.
