What is the temp rating of this brick?

The manufacturer does not provide a temperature rating for these panels. However, these panels are designed for decorative use only within a gas burning fireplace where temperatures do not come close to matching the temperatures found in a wood burning fireplace.

Is this panel meant to withstand the temperature of a fireplace? Also, is 19.5" the width or the height of this panel?
    1 Answers
This panel is indeed designed for use in a gas burning fireplace but should not be used in a wood burning model. The 19 1/2 inch measurement is indeed the height.

Can these panels be used to dress up a gel fuel firebox? How are these panels adhered? Also, could these panels also provide better insulation to keep the original firebox from heating up as much?
    1 Answers
These panels can indeed be used in a gel or gas firebox. They are designed to use the original retaining brackets that came with the fireplace. If your fireplace did not come with panels, retaining brackets would have to be made. Small "L" brackets work fine for this purpose. These panels are purely decorative and not intended for insulation purposes.

I need to replace the 3 panels in my gas stove. Will this panel work for that?
    1 Answers
This panel is designed to be installed into a fireplace which burns only natural gas or liquid propane. This panel would not be suitable for a wood burning fireplace.

I have a metal box wood burning fire place and my fire panel broke and I need a new one. Will this panel work in a wood burning fireplace?
    1 Answers
This panel is ceramic and can only be used in a gas burning fireplace. For a wood burning application, the Hargrove Replacement Fireplace Refractory Panel - 24 inch X 28 inch would be needed. The panel can be cut to size with a tile saw or a circular saw equipped with a masonry blade.

I have a wood burning fireplace, and the backwall is bad. Do you have panels for that or for the mortar and bricks?
    1 Answers
If you know the manufacturer and model information of your fireplace, we may be able to get the factory replacement panels for it. Otherwise, we do offer some universal refractory panels that will work for a factory-built wood-burning fireplace. Please see the following links: One 24"h x 28"w Panel Two 24" h x 40"w Panels These panels are about 3/4" thick and can be cut down to the size you need with a masonry blade or tile saw.

The back wall of my fireplace is bad. Can I cut this and put it in place without mortar?
    1 Answers
This ceramic fiber panel can indeed be cut and installed into a gas fueled fireplace without the use of any mortar. However, please verify that your fireplace is indeed fueled by natural gas or liquid propane, as this panel is not suitable for a wood-burning fireplace.

    Great Overhall
Bought this product to give our 9 year old vent free gas fire box a boost. The product was easy cut to fit and really gave me what I was looking for. I recommend this product if you have a firebox that needs new fire brick!! Great product!
ProsEasy to cut and fits in an existing system. Very nice look.
ConsShipping was a little slower then I would have liked from the manufacturer.

I was in the process of installing a ventless gas log set in a wood burning fireplace that was designed for the retro. The problem was that the refractory panels were very chipped and dingy these panels were the answer and they made the fire box look like new. It was easy to work and cut to fit with a diamond circular blade. I used high temp adhesive to hold panels to old refractory panels. Whole process about 2hrs work. We get great compliments on the fireplace and truly enjoy the ambiance of our gas log thank you for this product it is a great fix for a old firebox

    Florence Decorative Brick Firebox Panel
My 3 Panels arrived in perfect condition. If you order this product it is very very light almost like Styrofoam the brick looks real but if you are not careful it will chip very easily. The material cuts very easy I used a diamond blade and it went through like butter smooth.I do love the product and every one of my guest always ask me where did I get it it really does look and feel great. After installing it and then your gas logs leave it along and stay away from the walls and it may last for a very long time.
    ProsLooks like real brick
ConsWill chip very easily must treat it carefully
