Can these fire be used to cook on or would this just get greasy?
    1 Answer
It is not advised to use gas logs as a cooking appliance, because they need to be unobstructed and clear of debris (food particles, grease) to continue with efficient operation. Also, and grates or grills would choke your airflow and cause sooting.

I want to put gas logs in a all masonry fireplace. There is a functioning flue. Do I use vented or ventless? If I use ventless and close the flue, will that supply more heat to the room?
    1 Answer
For a masonry chimney with a properly functioning flue, vented or vent free logs could be used. Vent free will indeed yield more heat to the room. Vented logs will provide only immediate radiant heat and are primarily for decorative purposes.
