Would this fit a "Charmaster" wood burning furnace?
Unfortunately, this would not be appropriate for a Charmaster furnace.

Does this require a recirculating pump for the hot water system to prevent overheating?
Per the manufacturer, a recirculating pump does indeed need to be added with this system in order to balance the temperature of the water in the system. Any pump sized for the capacity of your water heater should work well.
