Empire's DV25SG direct vent gas wall furnace is a great option for those who want to heat their home without all the hassles of installing, venting, cleaning, and maintaining a fireplace. This heater is attached to the wall and does not use electricity. It is available in natural gas and propane models. You do not have to have chimney ventilation but you vent this furnace through an outside wall. It is efficient and takes up very little space. There are various sizes to choose from so you can choose one that best fits your space needs.
Venting Requirements: This item requires a chimney with 4" inner diameter.

Where does the heat come out?
The unit will radiate heat from it. The fan option would blow heat out the top grill.

No, this furnace does not include a blower. You can add the optional DRB-1 Automatic Blower.

Can the heater be installed at an elevated position, like 8 ft high on an outer wall, to save space below?
I suppose this would be possible with a very tall ceiling height. Please note that this heater requires 48" of clearance from the top of the heater and this heater measures 27 3/4" H. With standard 8' ceiling height, this would leave 20 1/4" below the heater, which also has a 4" clearance requirement to a floor and a 6" clearance requirement from each side.

Can this unit be vented into a chimney that is exclusive to the unit?
This heater should only be installed on an exterior wall with a minimal vent run straight out of the back of the heater and to the outdoors.
