Is this safe to use with glass doors?

We do not recommend using any fireback in a woodburning fireplace with glass doors closed. You can do so if the doors are left open.

What holds the fireback up and in place?

The use of Cast Iron Fireback Feet keeps the fireback itself from falling forwards into the fire. Some people simply rest the fireback at an angle against the back wall of the fireplace.

Great help for heat reflection
Still early in the timeframe to be sure, but it appears to help in reflecting heat from the firebox to the living area. I tried to 'cure' the cast iron very carefully so it won't crack.

Decent
This fireback does reflect a lot of heat, but I wasnt overly impressed. I havent tried any other firebacks though so I didn't know what to expect. Still it was a good purchase.
