For a pipe measuring 7 inches, we recommend a 7-inch chimney brush. It is important to ensure the brush is not too small, as it will not clean effectively. An 8" poly bristle brush can also be used; its bristles can be trimmed slightly if it is too tight to maneuver.

What size do you recommend for a 9x6 chimney?
I would recommend the 6 x 10 chimney brush. However, you may need to trim the bristles to fit exactly due to the odd size of that flue.

About Chimney Brushes

Just like every other part of a fireplace, your chimney needs some TLC. A chimney brush is more important than you might think when it comes to keeping your fireplace clean and safe for use. Chimney brushes help keep exhaust flowing up and out of the home rather than into the home. You might wonder how. For more information and to know which chimney brush is right for you, check out our Chimney Brushes Buyer's Guide.
