The glass doors can indeed be closed while the fire is still burning, however we recommend to cease adding fuel at least an hour before you intend to close them. The doors will be warm enough to prevent thermal shock, which could lead to breakage.

I believe I may have one of your fireplace door sets. It has magnets around which the inner screen frames are cut out, and these magnets are supposed to keep the doors closed. The magnets have lost their magnetism and no longer keep the doors closed. Does this sound like a design you offer?

Hello, the design you're describing with magnets to close the inner screen frames does sound familiar. However, eFireplaceStore does not offer fireplace doors with magnetic closures for the inner screen frames. Customers seeking this style have often found brands like Portland Willamette to be known for producing magnetic style doors. If you are considering replacing your fireplace doors, please provide the manufacturer name and model number of your fireplace. Doors for manufactured units are specific to the model, not just dimensions. This information is typically found on a metal plate inside your fireplace opening.

To help us find the best fit, please clarify if this is for a brick/masonry fireplace or a manufactured fireplace. If it is a manufactured fireplace, please provide the manufacturer name and model number.
