Customer Q&A with Product Specialists

Nicholas G. from Dushore Pa 18614 asked:
Can I vent out the basement window if I fabricate using stainless steel sheet metal or fire-resistant material at the window?
Can I vent out the basement window if I fabricate using stainless steel sheet metal or fire-resistant material at the window?
You could indeed vent this horizontally, provided you fabricated a non-combustible surround for passing through the window. The flex hose shown in the picture is the stove's fresh air intake.

Does the vent need to be 3 feet higher than anything within 10 feet?
This unit is natural draft, so the vent would have to pass the roof line a minimum of 3', and be 2' higher than the tallest point within 10'.

You will need the proper vent going up above the roof, installed with the appropriate venting components, yes.

Is the stove restricted by altitude?
The manufacturer notes that at elevations above 5,000 ft, additional venting height may be required to allow the unit to draft properly.
