If you own either a Osburn 2400 High Efficiency EPA wood burning stove or the 2400 Wood burning insert, then you will need to purchase this cast iron door overlay that is required for all Osburn firebox installations. Finished with an attractive traditional black cast iron coating, this door overlay fits around the viewing window of your Osburn wood burning insert. Is this stating that the stove we buy does not have a door, and that we must buy this door with it as well?
1 Answer
The door overlay is not a complete door per say. The door will be included with the unit, but there is a recess in the casting that is designed to house one of the decorative door overlays to complete the unit. Because of this design, the overlay must be selected to complete the door.

This item is the door overlay only (the frame around the glass of the door assembly). It is only meant for use with the Osburn 2400 stove and fireplace insert. As such, the manufacturer does not provide dimensions for these components.

I would recommend this item to a friend.
But this for your stove, it's worth it.
This door overlay adds value / quality to the wood stove insert! It's easy to install, and you'll be glad you purchased it.I wasn't sure at the time of purchase if it would be needed...but go ahead it's worth it!
Complements the unit. Easy to install. Worth the price!
This would be nice if it was included with the wood stove insert, not listed as an extra. Should be.
