I want to hang a television on the wall above the area for the wall mounted fireplace in a small sitting room. How flat against the wall does this product hang?

Per the manufacturer's manual, this unit has a projection of 4 3/4 inches.

Can this fireplace be recessed as an insert into the wall rather than hung? Would that obstruct perimeter lighting?
1 Answer
Per the manufacturer, the fireplace may not be recessed into the wall as it has not been tested in this fashion. You may only use the included stand or mount the fireplace on the wall.
Per the installation instructions, you would need 36" of clearance at the sides, top and 13 3/4" from the base if you were to recess the fireplace. As you may only choose one of the two described installation methods, recessing the fireplace, even with the aforementioned clearances, would still not be allowed by the manufacturer.
