How many cans of this paint would you recommend to spray paint the inside of my average size fireplace?
    1 Answer
It is not recommended to paint over brick and mortar, as the high temperatures often cause the paint to discolor and separate quickly. The better option would be to apply a thin coating of refractory mortar over the existing material. This will seal and protect any damaged brick, while enhancing the thermal efficiency of the fireplace.

Does this come in a flat black? And can I spot paint rather than repaint all my fireplace walls?

    1 Answer
This does indeed come as a flat black, and can be used to spot paint as opposed to painting the whole interior.

Is this paint suitable for painting the brass trim on the outside of the fireplace surround? It's not cast iron or steel.
    1 Answer
You can indeed use this paint to cover the brass trim of the fireplace surround. I would suggest that extra care is taken in prepping the surface to allow the paint to adhere properly to the brass surface.

Old Fireplace Replacement has turned into Fine Young Beauty
My partner did not want me to paint this old cast iron 40 year old fireplace that we use everyday during the cold months. I trusted the customer ratings, talked with a specialist, and took the leap. Just one hour later I had a beautiful eye catching fireplace. He came home to find this finely painted "new looking" fireplace and he says, "Fireplace is stunning, I didn't believe it would not offgas because I had bad experiences in the past." We just love this paint and are now telling our friends and they are asking where to get this marvel.
One Hour to paint, two hours of smell, first time I had a fire no off gassing. None
