I bought this and used tried to wipe it clean, use a stiff nylon bristle brush, and stiff metal brush but it does not come clean. It says it will clean brick and the grout. Am I missing something?

If by "soiled" you mean with soot and not some other fluid or debris, then it should be as simple as spraying the formula onto a brick surface, waiting 10-15 seconds and then wiping the surface down. If this is not working, please note that this chemical will only remove creosote and not brick soiled with paint, etc., and multiple cleanings will be required in some cases.
