I was pleasantly surprised to see how well this was made. Appears to be a heavy gauge cast iron and fits perfect in my fireplace. Already used it twice and so far so good no peeling paint. I do feel it reflects more heat out into the room as I had hoped. I am happy with my purchase

Just the right size for my fireplace.
The fireback covers my firebox beautifully. I ordered the fireback feet from this same manufacturer and didn't pay attention to how high they were. I would recommend that you buy smaller ones elsewhere as they are so high my fireplace grate has to sit on top of them and balance on the front of the firebox. Not the safest set-up, so I'll be replacing them eventually. But the fireback is beautiful and worth the money paid.
