The American Panel 48 x 48 Original Edge Type 2 Hearth Board is designed for thermal and ember protection and can be used over a wood sub-floor. However, to ensure it meets the R-value requirements and is the correct size for your specific stove, please refer to your stove's installation manual. The hearth pad must be large enough to extend beyond the sides, front, and back of the stove.
